As high school was ending, I wanted to go to college. The cost felt out of reach. My father had served for 23 years, and the Army offered a way to follow his example while building my own future.

I enlisted with that future in mind. I trained as a gunner for a convoy-security missions in Iraq, while my second deployment was mainly detainee operations. We lost people during both. Their loss is part of my story, and I carry it with respect.

Injuries from my service stayed with me. In 2014, I medically retired. I had already begun studying design, and I kept going—earning degrees in graphic design and web development and interactive media.

I returned to the interest that had been there from the beginning: creating things and understanding how they work. Studying, designing, learning to code. Becoming a beginner again and staying with it.

That part matters to me. You can be proud of where you have been and still have more to become.

DRVVYN brings that belief into clothing. The graphics, the words, the details—they come back to effort, responsibility, and forward movement. I want the things we wear to mean something in the lives we’re actually living.
